The efficiency of your panels and the surface they cover will determine how much power you can generate. Be sure and crunch the numbers to see how many solar panels you'll need to install. You could actually save money by purchasing a small number of efficient panels.

There are two major kinds of photo-voltaic panels. Poly-crystalline panels are generally less expensive; however, they are not as efficient as mono-crystalline panels. Buy the best product for the amount of money you have available to spend.

Your solar energy system will be more efficient if it allows you to use power at anytime of the day or night. A lot of the newer solar panel models can store enough energy that you can use at any time. If you most of your energy usage occurs at night, this is ideal.

Don't believe that installing solar panels means that you are going to completely tear your roof off. You will need to start with the outside lights and replace them with solar powered lights. These charge from the sun all day and shine at night.

You need a reliable method for storing energy that's produced from the solar energy system. A good battery that stores a lot of power for a long time or selling energy produced to utility companies can be great ideas.

Panels that are easily rotated have the best efficiency. The ideal angle of your panels will change throughout the day and from one season to the next.

Consider a backup power option, just in case you have a problem with your solar panels. A great choice is a generator. Or, you could stay hooked up to a power grid and get power when panels are down. A generator should be started regularly to keep it functioning.

You have to think about whether or not solar energy is a good choice for your home. There are several things to consider. Those living off the grid could really benefit from solar power. If you can make a large up-front investment, it can also reduce your energy costs over the life of the panels.

There are many changes from year to year with solar energy systems. They used to be very expensive but now are affordable. Regardless of your energy needs, you can find a good solar power system if you try.

Install your solar panels so they receive the most sun throughout the year. If you are not sure of how you should place them, you should take some time to track the path of the sun and take into consideration the changes that occur with each season.

Just because a solar panel is bigger, that doesn't mean it is better. The quality of each panel is affected by many factors, like wattage and warranty. Such factors must all be considered when contemplating a purchase.

Be wary of pushy salesmen who make promises that seem too good to be true. Unfortunately, you'll run across quite a few of these in the solar panel business. Always be ready to inform them you'll think about their options in the near future but that you're not going to commit right this moment. Beware of deals that depend on you acting quickly. Making a decision while under pressure can lead to regret later.

Switching to solar energy will help you save money in the long term and will also help you reduce your impact on the environment. There are quite a few benefits to this kind of power, and you must keep the things you have read here in mind. Go ahead and start working on your personal solar energy plans.

The Soo Pilots Association will be opening Sanderson Field to the public for the second time Friday night with airplane displays and the showing of a movie inside their massive hangar. Sanderson Field’s hangar doors will open at 6 p.m. for the public to explore. They’ll be welcome to check out the terminal, aircrafts, emergency vehicles and discuss aviation with pilots.  “This year we’re going to expand it,” said the Soo Pilots Association’s Tom Brown. “We have the fire department, the coast guard and more coming.” Joining the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and United States Coast Guard will be Sault City Police, the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol and members of the Soo Pilots.  Friday’s open house will also present a unique chance for kids to catch a movie inside the hangar too. The 10,000 square-foot structure will serve as a theatre with a screening of the animated film “Wings” at 7 p.m. Last year there were 80 kids or so at the event. Depending on the weather, Brown could see the number balloon up until 200. He said youngsters were fascinated with all the equipment on hand from the aircraft to the runway’s lawnmower. “They’re free to wander,” said Brown. “There are people on hand to show off the planes. We’ll let the kids check out the insides, see the gauges and move the handles.”  Ideally, the hangar doors will be open so kids can roam around, said Brown. If the weather takes a chilling turn, the hangar can be heated. Tickets area available for $5 with concessions on hand.

Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre hosts about 40 events annually, such as Holiday Gift and Craft Show in November 2015. As part of a $1.15-million renovation, the space earmarked for gatherings will be moved from the building's west to east end. That's expected to increase capacity from about 300 to up to 500, said curator Todd Fleet. Available square footage is expected to roughly double from about 6,000 to 6,500 square feet to 12,000 to 13,000 square feet. The extra room will help the centre land more trade shows and conferences. “The way the space is set up we can't quite do it the way we want to,” said Fleet during a media event on Tuesday. The relocation is also expected to save the moving of featured airplanes and vehicles when events run. “Every time we have an event we're constantly reworking our on-floor displays,” said president Kim Park. “There's a challenge to that. We become more efficient by being able to leave our static displays set up as they should be.” A reheating space, formerly a volunteer lunch room, will also make the move to the building's east side. That area will be reconfigured with additional equipment, such as a larger space, brought in for caterer use. “We just want to make it so that it's easier for the caterers to come in and do their jobs,” Fleet told The Sault Star on Wednesday. About 40 events annually generate about $70,000 in revenue annually for the non-profit centre. That's almost 10 per cent of the museum's $800,000 budget. President Kim Park anticipates event revenue to climb 10 to 20 per cent with the move.
